Why do my friends think Williamsburg is unsafe?

Ok I recognize this is a bit of a tone def question, especially coming from a white transplant — I know that much of Brooklyn is heavily gentrified, especially Willy b. It may have historically not been as safe due to being severely underinvested in and overpoliced as a means to depress the historic demographic makeup in many neighborhoods that are now gettin developed into modern buildings with Whole Foods at the base. But I remain very confused.. the only times I have ever felt unsafe walking at night have been in Manhattan. The first time I went out in the west village there was a street fight that resulted in some guy bashing another one’s head in on scaffolding and my friend (living on UES) said that I “must be so used to this though” because I live in Brooklyn… what? I have never, nor would I ever expect to see something like that anywhere I’ve hung out in BK? Where does this come from?

Hello! I’m wondering if anyone would be able to explain admissions odds when you hover AROUND medians but are technically at or below.

For context I have a 3.83 GPA and 168 LSAT, I assumed I’m essentially cooked but I’m not quite at or below any 25th percentiles? I’m also not above any medians (especially for T20), but I’m quite close to some while being below?

Sorry if this is silly I’m just wondering if anyone understands this haha
