Terrible Experience with Dr. Asaria at FACE Toronto

Just wanted to share my story as I know his name comes up here. I had a rhinoplasty with Dr. Asaria at FACE Toronto roughly 6 months ago and am extremely upset with my results.

To start off with the positives, it’s clear that his clinic runs super well and his team is great. I could always get ahold of someone, and everyone I interacted with is very kind and patient. My results, though, were not what I wanted at all.

At the consultation, Dr. Asaria made the “after” mockups of my nose before meeting with me. I should’ve taken this as a red flag that he would just ultimately just override my requests and do what he wanted. The rest of the consultation went well though, and he came highly recommended, so I went ahead and booked the surgery.

My nose was a difficult case—it was crooked and bulbous with a deviated septum. Despite this, I wanted as little changed as possible. I basically wanted it to be more straight and symmetrical, with the deviated septum corrected, keeping the original shape intact. Ultimately, in my opinion, he made changes that I didn’t ask for, resulting in a nose that looks unnatural and pinched on my face, with triangular nostrils from the front and an odd “C” shape from the side.

At our six month follow up, Dr. Asaria dismissed any concerns I had. He stated that he did as little modification as he possibly could have, and didn’t see any wrongdoing on his end. He ultimately said there was nothing further he could do for me—that I needed to treat this as a death, and he couldn’t bring anything back to life. He said that the reason I was unhappy was because of me and my personality, not anything he did. He mentioned that he performs hundreds of rhinoplasties a year and only two people tend to react the way that I have, so perhaps I am just an anomaly. Just wanted to share my experience as I found stories like this helpful when deciding on a surgeon, even though I ultimately chose the wrong one for me. Without a doubt, this has been the biggest regret of my life.
