The DB BR 12 or former DR BR 01.10 are tenderlocomotives and were follow ups and upgrades from Germany's flagship steamlocomotives, the DR BR 01.

Built between 1939 and 1940, they were removed from service in 1975. Many of them now are museum or memorial locomotives, the rest got scrapped. 10 of the former 54 locomotives are still around, some are still maintained and driveable and used for nostalgic trips through Germany.

Being able to go up to 150km/h they we're the backbone of Germany's highspeed- and fasttrain network. Due to regulations their top speed got lowered to 140km/h. Backwards they can go up to 50km/h due to the tender in the back.
