1-2 Month Rental in Los Angeles

My wife and I live in Los Angeles and recently started talking about doing 1–2 month stays in other cities/countries each year instead of just taking short vacations.

We discovered HomeExchange and Kindred and the whole concept is really interesting to us, especially since it seems more community/trust based than Airbnb.

A few questions for people who actually do this:

  • How hard is it to get setup?
  • Are the people who stay at your home respectful and wont cause trouble?
  • Is it worth it?

Would love to hear real experiences from people who’ve made this part of their lifestyle.

Just got a few signups but trying to grow. Would love some advice and feedback.

App is called duo. It’s a relationship organizer meant to help people be better partners. You can save all your anniversaries even little milestones, save gift links, date ideas, travel planning, birthdays. Pretty much everything in your relationship to help you show up and be better.

I put the link in the comments if you want to take a look. Thanks!

She'd text me a restaurant she wanted to try. Send a link to something she wanted for her birthday. Mention a trip in passing. And I'd think "I'll remember that" and then completely forget it.

I tried Notes, screenshots, and starred messages. Everything ended up buried.

So I built duo — a private relationship organizer. Gift ideas, restaurants, date plans, milestones. Everything in one place.

Just got App Store approved after about a month of development and navigating rejections. Would genuinely love feedback from anyone who tries it and if anyone has tips on growing a brand new app with zero marketing budget I'm all ears.

Link in comments.

She sends me links to things she likes.
Mentions a restaurant in passing.
Talks about trips she wants to take.

And every time I think, “I’ll remember that.”

I never do.

Not because I dont care. I just have nowhere to actually keep all of it.

Curious if anyone else deals with this?
