USC Accounting / MAcc grads: how has job recruiting been for you?

Starting the MAcc this year and just curious what recruiting has looked like for recent USC accounting grads since USC is known for accounting. I’ve heard mixed things about the job market and wanted to hear people’s experiences.

If you’re still job searching, I’d appreciate hearing from you too. Also helpful if you mention whether you’re domestic or international since I know that can affect recruiting.

Recent MAcc grads, did you land a job?

Hi everyone, I will be starting my macc this year and I’ve heard some stories about Macc grads not getting any offers. Just wanted to see how bad is it out there.

  1. Did you land an accounting role?

  2. How many jobs did you apply to?

  3. How many interviews?

4.Is it big4/ regional/ local firm/etc

  1. What city/state are you in?

  2. What school did you go to (target/ non target)

  3. What service line? (Audit/tax/etc)

  4. Any prior internships?

  5. Comp range? (If comfortable)

Please don’t hesitate to comment if you’re still job hunting as well that perspective is just as helpful (if not more) for understanding what recruiting actually looks like right now.

Please roast my resume

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I will be getting my master’s this fall and total tuition + housing will be around $70k.

I’m wondering if I should take out student loans (including Grad PLUS) to pay for it or use my savings. I currently have a little over $100k in savings and investments, but I’ll have little to no income during school and I also have a family.

Not sure if it makes more sense to use savings or just take the loans and keep more cash on hand.

Feel free to roast me, but I do need the degree for career advancement.

Appreciate any advice.

They have private rooms for $700, including WiFi, utilities, and laundry. That seems to be way below MSRP. It’s also really close to campus. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them?
