What tools are you using for job hunting?

Everyone seems to be struggling with the same things: finding relevant jobs, tailoring resumes, generating cover letters, tracking applications etc.

Curious what tools are you using and how do you find them?

People keep complaining about how broken job searching is.

At the same time, a ton of indie hackers are building tools to help with it:

  • job trackers
  • AI resume tools
  • auto apply tools
  • interview prep apps
  • company monitors
  • networking tools

The problem is those two groups barely connect.

Most career-related subs ban self promotion, so builders can’t really share what they’re making. And job seekers rarely get exposed to new tools unless they already know they exist.

It also makes it hard to get actual feedback. There are barely any real discussions about these products on Reddit beyond “LinkedIn sucks” posts.

So I made r/jobsearchapps.

A place specifically for:

  • sharing job search tools
  • discovering new apps/workflows
  • getting feedback from real job seekers
  • discussing what actually helps people land interviews

Self promo is allowed, just not spam.

Feels like there should’ve been a community like this already.

Most career subs ban self promo, so job search tools never get discussed
