Just took a trip to Oklahoma City, so a re-listen was necessary.

Hey y’all. I just spent the weekend in OKC for a relative’s graduation, so of course I stopped by the museum/memorial for the bombing. It was…overwhelming to say the least. Don’t get me wrong, it was very well done and I think it was just the right amount of realistic while still being tasteful. Unfortunately having kids has changed my brain chemistry, and I had to tap out very early. I know there was a bunch of interesting information about his capture alone with items related to the incident - but after watching one too many videos of a child’s body covered in blood, I had to leave out of there and get some air. If y’all can stomach it, though, I recommend it.

On a more positive note, obviously I gave the OKC series a re-listen, and I have to say that we have collectively forgotten one of Henry’s best characters. Yes, it’s funny to recall that his nickname was Noodle and “Baaaaaad companyyyyy” is a nice little drop, but I was fucking crying when Henry was doing the voice of “Gunther,” the woman that took Noodle’s virginity, and then also shows up (as a joke, not for real) as a stripper making a BLT using her feet and vagina. I legit had to rewind multiple times because I kept missing lines from my laughing.

Anyway, hail Satan. Hail yourselves. And hail the good people of OKC.

Just found this sub and I have questions.

Hey y'all.

Like the title says, I just stumbled upon this subreddit, so I have no idea if this post is allowed or not. But I've had three or four different pest control companies come to my door in the last month and I'm hoping for some clarification. For context, I live in the suburbs of Long Beach, CA.

  • We had a pest control company coming by every three months. Then one of the salesmen said that that's not frequent enough and it should be done every two months. (I eventually chose to switch to this company). Then a few days later another company representative gave me a pitch that said it needs to be monthly. So how often do I really need to have pest control services?
  • Being a civilian, I have no idea what to look for in a company aside from price. My original company was $136 per quarter, and they did outside spraying, webbing, etc. I think we could do indoor, but we never really did because we have kids and pets. The company I switched to is charging $120 but coming out every two months. They offer a few other things as like an annual add-on, but it's also mostly outdoor.
  • In addition to the last point, is there any research I should do about the chemicals they use and their effectiveness/safety? With kids and (indoor only) pets, it's just something that comes to mind.

I've probably got other questions, but these were the ones that came to mind at first. I went to cancel the old pest control and they offered to do $69/quarter, which is obviously a great deal, but if they actually do need to come out more often or if they're using inferior products, I don't want to switch back for no reason.

Thanks for any input!

Is the airport still okay?

Hey all. I know that a few months ago, LGB was still operating as normal. I've got a flight this Thursday and wanted to ask again. Has anybody flown out of LGB recently, and if so, is it still essentially a walk-on?

Thanks!

Edit: Thanks for the input! Sounds like LGB remains the absolute worst and a total pain to fly out of, and therefore everybody should just stay away. Don't even go near it to confirm this, just trust me.

Is there a thread or a day where we all ask dumb questions that we should have asked before but never did, and now you’re too embarrassed to ask?

For instance, I’m a fully licensed MFT. Been licensed for over a year. How do you heal attachment injuries/ruptures? I understand attachment and I know that ruptures are bad - yet I have no idea how to heal them.

Or how do you assess for abuse besides just straight up asking?

Questions like that. Some others I could imagine people asking are: What does it mean to “sit with” emotions? How do you start/end sessions? What do you tell a parent of a child client when the parent asks for details of the session?
