Type 2 Flare Up Fix - Aloe

Type 2 Flare Up Fix - Aloe

Hi! So this might be removed because I haven't posted before but I've been a longtime reader. I hope this helps someone.

On Friday (5/8) I stupidly used First Aid Beauty Dewy Gel Cream as a moisturizer all on my face before spot testing. This is on me. I had read before on this same sub that the eucalyptus oil might be an irritant but I was an idiot and thought I'd be different since I just spent $36 on this tub - I was not.

Saturday (5/9) I woke up to the worst flare I've ever had. Pustules everywhere. My skin hurt and was hot. Just in case this helps someone - yes, I am about 2 days away from my period starting but I truly don't think this was a factor.

Sunday (5/10) It was slightly better but still hurt and was pealing. I was desperately searching this sub for suggestions but it all seemed hit or miss? On a whim I chose aloe.

So... I bought Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel and it was instant releif. Obviously it's not going to be the best long term like an Rx for Metro will be, but this worked. If you are searching for answers give it a go - I've been in your shoes looking for every $10-20 quick fix. This worked for me.

Edit: This sub requited me to submit a link but I get no benefit from it. Buy it from wherever you want!

Sirene - Wonderful!

Just had an amazing Mother's Day dinner at Sirene last night. We had the best table outside (back and to the right, last table) for four, but could easily work for six if that is your need. Their menu has changed since what is online - no more steelhead trout or mussels. I'm sorry that I didn't take a picture!

For four, here is what we ordered:

  • 6 Pacific Cocktail Oysters
  • Smoked Fish Dip (this was fine, but won't order again)
  • Roasted Asparagus Salad
  • Cod with Morels and Asparagus (not on current online menu - delicious and I'd order again)
  • Half Fried Chicken with All the Fixin's
  • Rize Up Sourdough

We had the BEST time and it was all super delicious. Our waitress was also kind in dealing with my (can be difficult in a Boomer way) dad.

I'm sorry that I didn't take a picture of the fried chicken but the ones on Yelp are accurate. It was enough for us to share (two drumsticks and a wing and a thigh). The collards were SO good and vinegar-y which is how I like them.

The standout for me was the asparagus salad. Run, do not walk.
