Just replaced my ice maker (never done this before), and the wire harness cord is very long, is it ok if it sticks out like this, or is that a problem?

Also, is it normal the gears don’t move right away after replacing and turning fridge back on? How long til they start moving / producing ice? Just want to make sure I didn’t secure the harness right/the maker is broken.

I’m sure this is very silly, but I’ve never done anything like this and trying to become more handy.

Updating an earlier post as some of you have provided some further helpful tips.

The gears are interchangeably deciding to move and not move. Sometimes they move when the bar is up, don’t move when the bar is down.

Water is coming through bottom when i push the bar down if gears move

Anything simple can do? Or should i be buying a new ice maker?

Stuck in this position. I’ve pulled it up, and tried to push back down, but won’t budge past this part. Thoughts?
