Uber steals
I had two issues with payments today. The first involved a no-show: after the initial 2 minutes plus the 5-minute grace period had passed, they offered me an extra $1.21 to wait another 4 minutes. Since the ride was worth $80, it seemed worth the wait. The time elapsed, but the passenger never showed up and didn't answer their phone. I cancelled the trip, and they paid me a total of just $3.19—not even the standard no-show fee. Yet, as far as they're concerned, everything is "fine." The second problem: I picked up a ride to the airport for $41.50. I dropped the passenger off about 1,000 feet short of the location shown on the map—she had specifically asked me to do so. Fine. But then, my payout was reduced by $1.50. I reached out to support again, and once again, they insisted everything was "fine." It feels just like going to the grocery store and having my produce weighed on a rigged scale. They are nothing but licensed thieves.
