I've been building a Chrome extension for Xero users and before I wrote a single line of code I just asked people how they handle attachments and data enrichment.

Not in a survey. In actual conversations.

Here's what I kept hearing:

• "I download from Gmail, rename the file, go to Xero, find the transaction, upload. Repeat 40 times."
• "I have a junior just for this. It's still not caught up."
• "I copy supplier details by hand because Xero doesn't pull them automatically."
• One bookkeeper told me she spends 6+ hours a week on this. Every week.

None of them thought it was fixable. They just assumed it was the job.

That stuck with me. Because it's not the job. It's friction that compounds quietly until it's eating your Fridays.
