In the interview process and learned that the high end of the salary range is actually lower than my current salary by a few thousand (120k vs 123k). Should I tell them this and see if that is an issue or wait and see if I get an offer.

The job really interests me and aligns with what I wanna do, but I don’t really want to take a haircut as I have a kid in the way this year.

I’m creating an edge device that will use a llama and rag that will have a database of knowledge on a general niche, off grid survival. Looking to run local LLM on a small SBC at the edge and want input on which model I should choose. For my final end product I’d like to be running a 55 with 16 gigs of ram and using an NVME or a latte panda iota with 16 gigs of RAM with an NVME. The use case is somewhat niche and I will have a large data store of all my PDFs and plan to use rag for most of the knowledge base.

From my quick research, it seems like the phi3:mini model may be a good option.

Have a little under 2.5 years left on our car loan at 4.9%. The balance left is about $15,000. The monthly payment is $550.

We have about $54,000 in our savings/HYSA as our e fund. Currently for 6 months expenses at $7500 per month we need $45,000 total. That’s at our normal spend rate if we didn’t tighten down and spend a little more frugally.

We also have a kid coming at the end of the year, will probly be about $5500-$6000 out of pocket for that.

We make about 225k per year combined and max our Roth IRA and almost max 401k.

Can anyone point me to that?
