Hey! I was just wondering if eating a lot and resting a lot more 10-11k steps only around three to four times a week, maybe 5, but other days less and eating 2600+ calories will I continuously gain weight? There’s not much information out there about this and wanted to know the experience of others!

For context, went into quasi-recovery around September, stayed into quasi recovery until around early April, went my version of all in three weeks again yesterday (no strength training- although I plan to do low intensity twice a week max from now on as I feel it will do me mentally good), 2600+ calories every day obviously the steps above. In quasi recovery I gained around 5 kg, however in the past three weeks I believe I have gained a further 1.5 ish. I’m now at a very solid bmi (around 23 and have some gained fat not muscle due to not strength training). My hunger is less, at the start of the three weeks was eating 2800+, however now I’m only really hungry for around 2600-800 absolute max, is this my new maintenance even if I gained a little bit more, when will the weight gain end and do I need to increase further if my weight plateaus as it’s recommended to be in a surplus?

To give some context, I lost my period in March 2025, I had not lost significant weight by this point but had been severely under fueling (less than 2000 whilst being a competitive swimmer 5x 2 hour sessions per week and a lot of steps in the day- maybe 10-15k). I had begun to eat significantly less at the end of January that year. In September 2025 I had lost a lot of weight and decided to t try and get my period back, I cut down a lot only three light strength sessions per week and 8-12k steps. I did gain some weight but nothing significant (In July/ August I had been eating around 2200 and maintaining my new body without swimming). However, I actually became happier with how I looked, I had some more cm etc but I needed to eat more however was scared to as I actually liked how I looked having gained a bit of weight. (For context I was always a bit bigger but lost until I was very small but still healthy due to my accumulated muscle mass over many years of swimming), thus I was stuck in quasi-recovery until about three weeks ago (start of April 2026).

However, I felt so isolated and alienated from my body and I knew that I needed to go all in to get my period back as the signs I was having were fleeting and not realistic). So I began eating 2600-3000 every day, walking a lot less 8-10k average and stopping strength training for a bit. As I had already but a lot of work in I got significant cm almost immediately. Last week I had an increased libido for the first time in a while, some VERY light spotting and random cramps after the spotting and lots and lots of stretchy clear cm. I also got some night sweats one night and on the same night very vivid dreams and odd sleep. I also began taking acetyl-l-carnitine and red maca however I can’t say if there was a correlation as I started taking them the day I was eating more. Right now I have only water creamy slightly sticky discharge and am wondering if I’m in the luteal phase help needed!

Also after my first period I want to slowly start reintroducing exercise as I have always had a period whilst swimming more than I previously had been since I was 9. However this will only be 2 x light strength training sessions to feel a bit better in myself and refocus myself as I need an output whilst doing my a levels. I’m feeling very down and uncomfortable about my body aswell and I think a bit of muscle gain would be beneficial?

After 7 month of no period (last one Feb 2025) I decided to tray and get my period back in September 2025, I did gain weight back etc but dropped back down to my maintenance for a while from about January to last week (April 2026) whilst maintaining this weight gain, however I decided to go all in last week and I’m wondering if I will gain a load more weight or just a little as I have already gained a lot? I’m really stressed about it please help I’m still going all in though. Also would I be able to strength train a couple of times a week to stay happy with my physique just a little bit?
