The bowl cracked at the spalted side 😭😭

Lost a lot of depth from that . Got mad at it and just left the cross section however it was and burnished and oiled.

Some times I regress into that rage that would have a spoon axed to shreds in the past. This was one of those moments and I'm proud I'm held it back... But I'm still mad at that stupid wood.

Edit: almost forgot. I also still love the ripples in the grain at the bottom of the bowl. It was a great surprise

Tellason Ankara - 128 wears - first wash, regrettably

Getting cat pee on your jeans is definitely a convincing motivation away from wanting to go longer on the fades.

Feel like I could have gotten better honeycombs out of this. And I expected better roping because I did a hot soak to begin with.

But the fades are coming along. Whiskering is pretty good. I think I'll make these my clean jeans and start working on a new pair

Tellason Ankara - 128 wears - Y'all win, the cats helped you.

Nothing like kneeling in cat pee on a customer's carpet to rapidly destroy the "but I don't stink" argument I was having with y'all a couple weeks ago. I had to wash them. I can't stand that smell.

I expected more roping on the hem from doing the original soak hot. But it'll probably come with the next wash. I'm pretty happy with the fades. I think these will be my clean jeans now and I'll get started on a new pair.

Pretty wood even if mediocre carving

got a crook out of a pile of last year's uncarved wood at this year's local spoon gathering. First time trying my hand at a laddle-like thing... so the rough carving is pretty rough.

there's a lot of color and spalting and waviness in this that I think is really pretty.
