Moving to Prague? Clarifications :)
hi all, i am a foreign student currently studying in Prague, with a potential lead on an english teaching assistant position beginning in August. i have a few questions about living requirements that i havent been able to answer via google searches.
the stated salary is between 40-45.000 Kc per month, is that livable for Prague? the school is in Prague 6, so ideally id like to live in that area. (ive seen 40.000 thrown around as a livable wage for Prague, but would love some clarification on that.)
the interviewer stated that the contract includes mandatory taxes, social security, and health care to be taken out before the check is deposited (15-20% decrease was stated). this seems self explanatory, but would this cause a signficiant decrease in pay that i should be aware of? Does the 40.000 comfortable salary fall before or after these expenses are taken out?
should i have significant savings before moving to prague? as a student, i still have some debt that i would attempt to pay off prior to relocating, but that would likely mean i would have little to no savings for moving. is that a deal breaker?
what style of housing should i be looking at? flatshare, studio apartment, 1 bedroom? any recommendations of places to find apartments that will rent to foreigners?
visa requirements, ill be returning to my country when my study period ends (may 15), and would be anticipating to return at the beginning of august. would i need to apply for a work visa ASAP? or is that generally handled by the employer?
thanks for any and all insight, i appreciate the help!
