This little guy/gal was hiding in between two bricks in a retaining wall where the mortar had crumbled away. I am worried that this may be a copperhead because this is in my elderly parents’ backyard and I (lovingly) joke that my father is the real-life embodiment of Clark Griswold. He is the primary caregiver for my terminally ill mother (I am their only child and live and work on the west coast, unfortunately). Should something happen to him, I would grieve hard, but my mom would be devastated. We both love him very much and want him around for as long as possible! :)
