UPDATE no one asked for lol…my random garden is taking shape!!

Last Thursday I tasked myself with clearing out an old brick patio and making it into a garden! Found out the dirt is not ideal so raised bed it is…measured wrong and am probably gonna buy galvanized steel tubs to finish it off and mulch, but I’m proud of this, dang it! I am so happy that I’ve actually committed to a project this far, hoping I can keep it all alive now lol. As for all the bricks, we’re gonna do a border around and then make random little crude planter boxes and just improve every year until we are happy 😊

Dug up an old brick patio, dirt underneath teeming with worms…oh and it smells like sh*t lol what does this mean?!

I really have no clue what I’m doing or really what to even ask…but what now? I have a plot, I guess I need to till the existing dirt and then add…more dirt? The soil seems pretty fertile as there are countless earthworms, it’s wet, smells horrible (does that mean it’s fertilized? lol) and there seems to be some sandy type stuff in there too. I just don’t know if I’m throwing topsoil on and planting or HOW do I figure out next steps? Over my head here I think…in zone 7a and last frost should be like next week hopefully.

When you think you have a plan…but you really don’t.

Decided I wanted a garden, and we had a brick patio grown over with grass and weeds. Figured tearing the bricks up would be a couple hour project…currently day 2 and almost have them all out , but now what do I do with the bricks and pavers?! Lmao HELP
