Repairing (not replacing) New 3DS XL wireless antenna
Hey all, looking for advice from anybody else who has absentmindedly broken the wireless antenna cable and actually repaired it.
I have no idea why - I know not to do this - but I lifted the cable off the mobo today by pulling the cable instead of prying the gold connector. Obviously it snapped. I know that I can replace the whole wireless antenna and cable but I’d prefer to avoid taking the top half apart if possible.
Has anybody managed to actually splice a good end section (from a new antenna) onto the existing cable? It is a super tiny wire which I think is some kind of shielded cable - there a sleeve within the outer sleeve containing the metal wire. I’m guessing that if I can make precise enough cuts I can strip the inner wire, insulate it together with the new one prepared the same way, and maybe end up with a working cable. But really, I’d like some guidance.
