Should I chop & prop?

Should I chop & prop?

I’ve had this pilea for a year-ish and propagated it from a cutting from a friend. It’s always been so leggy and has some cupping in the leaves (but not consistently - some leaves curl in, some leaves curl out). The bottom leaves fall off after a while and it just keeps growing taller.

I have been unsure if I’m over- or under-watering it. It gets bright indirect sunlight - about 3 feet from a large window. The pot is painted terracotta and has drainage, and it’s in soil that’s meant for succulents. I haven’t fertilized it at all, but am open to it.

If I chop it, how low to the soil should I chop? How can I make it bushier/fuller? Is there anything else I am doing wrong?
