I have a Trek FX1 that I bought in 2019 and it’s the right sort of ride for my use, but it’s got some maintenance needs that will cost more than they’re worth and I also decided I’d like something with disc brakes. I’m basically looking for a slightly upgraded version of what I already have. I’m a fair-weather commuter in NYC with a roughly 15-mile daily ride over some pretty poorly kept urban roads and bridges. Not a speed demon, but I like to be able to accelerate when I feel like it.

My first instinct was to get another FX model, but it looks like Trek has altered the frame design to have a more sloped top tube, which I don’t love. The Cannondale Quick 2 looks promising. Any other ideas/suggestions?
