How much debt do you have? How long will it take to pay off?

My uncle wanted to invest but I told him he needs to focus his time and energy on getting out of debt first. He said that would take too long. The problem is trying to convince him that getting out of debt is the correct order of operations when it comes to money. He's trying to skip steps and it will end hurting him.

I'm looking at the very last term that is simply adding a sub n. My thought process is that if it's following the pattern of the previous terms, it would be a_sub(1) + d(n - 1). But instead it's just a_sub(n) by itself.

Just curious not really a big deal but it does sort of bother me why it's not the way I imagined it would be.
