Hello everyone! My name is Diana Moreno, and for the past 2.5 months, I’ve had the honor of representing the neighborhoods of Astoria and Long Island City in the New York State Assembly, to fill now-Mayor Mamdani's vacant seat.

I'm making my r/MicromobilityNYC debut to share my support for the administration's updated and expanded proposal to redesign 31st Street and make it safer for everyone. This is one of the most dangerous corridors in Queens, with three deaths and over 500 injuries in the last five years alone. Our city has a duty to follow the data and take aggressive action to prevent traffic violence and save lives—and that’s what this redesign will do.

This wouldn’t be possible without years of hard work by street safety advocates and thousands of neighbors. And now, we need your help to get it across the finish line. If you want to make your voice heard, come to the Community Board #1 meeting on Tuesday, April 21st at 25-22 Astoria Blvd (Astoria World Manor / The Marquee at Astoria). DOT will present their proposal and allow members of the public to speak, each for up to 2 minutes. Hope to see you there!

(One last thing: if you live in Assembly District 36 and want to reach our office, don’t hesitate to call us at (718) 545-3889 or email us at ad36@nyassembly.gov to receive direct assistance or to make an appointment.)
