London driving - Blue light bulb icon on dash

Just a reminder to London drivers... if you see a blue light bulb icon on your dash, you are driving with your high beam lights on. Not only is this distracting and unsafe to other drivers, but it kind of says to other that you don't know how to drive. Just trying to help. ;)

Kilally trail at Edgevalley

Beautiful walk along the Kilally trails at Edgevalley area. I often see deer and blue heron. All right in the city and easily accessible. Enjoy.

Weather siren map

Until this latest tornado warning, I didn't know we had weather alert sirens. This google map shows locations for central ontario.

Is there a way to lower the volume of the safety alerts such as seat belt, backup camera car alerts etc? It is so so loud. Not guidance adepts.

Pixel 10a/9a case interchangeable?

Given there is only a mm difference in size, anyone had success with a 10a case on their 9a or vice versa?

Pothos rooting in water?

It's been about a week and still no roots. I just changed the water. Do I have too many cuttings in the same jar?

Still enjoying the pixel experience

There are a lot of negative posts regarding the pixel, especially the battery doze issue, the lock screen freeze, the boot loop etc and I have added to the negativity.

BUT, I am still enjoying the pixel experience. I have only used the A line: the pixel 3a, 6a and 9a. I enjoy the small form factor, the cleaner android experience and generally enjoy the google hardware to software experience and price.

Anyone else still enjoying the pixel experience?

I posted earlier looking for thoughts on securing a kayak on my new old tiny tall Venue. I received a lot of great advice. Given the cross beam spacing is very narrow I secured the front strap to the removable front bumper tow hook. I secured the back strap to the rear under body tow hook. Those were pulled tight to provide downward pressure on the cross beams. Then 2 mid straps pulled snug. It worked perfectly, all straps sung.

Not only does London have awesome walking trails, but there are also beautiful boating opportunities. Took the kayak out to Westminster Ponds.

I know pixel phones are not power user phones but my pixel 9a continues to perform well. Given all the google issues, I am pretty fortunate.

For those pixel users affected, this may ease your pain knowing that google is aware and help is hopefully coming soon. Let's hope.

London has so many beautiful trails. These are pics from today's (Sat 2 May) walk-about at Sweetbriar and Kilally.

A reminder to Londoners that funding programs like these are critical. We can't simply complain about the homelessness issue and then do nothing.

Although the article points to the dangers of charging your iphone in a vehicle, the dangers of excessive heat can easily apply across all smartphones, including google pixels.

I have a 2021 Venue Canadian model with ultimate (highest) trim. I also have Bluelink. I downloaded the newest Infotainment software to a USB stick and installed in my vehicle. I've read that Bluelink can update the software via OTA (over the air). Is this true? And does anyone have experience with OTA updates?

On light use days like today I manage about 5 percent battery an hour of SOT. When watching videos and medium use days I average about 7-8 percent battery an hour of SOT. All by managing app battery background use, turning off location if not using maps and LTE. 6 hrs SOT while at 70 percent battery.
