We're looking to switch our multiple POS from Square to Shopify and I'm wondering if we'll be able to continue using our USB (Type-B) cash drawers with the Shopify POS.

My understanding is the default Shopify POS setup has a receipt printer connected to the POS tablet or other device and then a kick cable (RJ11/12 to RJ45) from the printer to the cash drawer. If I use an RJ11/12 to USB Type-B adapter to connect the printer and drawer, will the kick still work or will this setup fail to transmit to electric signal that pops the drawer open?
