Hey guys, i'm thinking about a Marin Four Corners as a new do it all bike for my future adventures (i do everything, from commuting and chill cycling to bikepacking on komoot wrong road with rocks and hills..)
I am a bit confused about those things:
- Sword/Cue?
- Fc1 or Fc2, which model best price value (2024-5/2026 1 or 2)
- How is the frame size and fit; i'm 170 with legs a bit longer than torso (not so much) and average arms; asking around, half told me M for my legs, half told me S for the comfort of the bike frame shape all around. Official site with height only says 170 is M.
My previous bike was a simple Triban RC520 Gravel on M size, okaysh to me, i was just a bit longer on drop bar and tried to set that with 70/80mm stem. Not perfect, not too bad. Looking for something comfier tho.
- Four Corner 1 'purple color' frame says purple, but to me seems like a simple black. Does anyone have a purple model pic to show the purple reflexes or something?

Hello everyone!
After years of abusing everywhere my basic Triban RC520 gravel, i feel the urge of finding something lifetime proof for the future. I'm looking for something like Salsa Fargo, Kona Unit, Cinelli Hoobotleg Geo, Marin Four Corners, etc. (classic ATB with steel durable frame, bigger tyres than triban520 36mm limit..).
Based on my body proportions (5'6", relatively short torso and short arms, average inseam for height), I tend to struggle with long reach bikes.

I’m looking for a bike with:

  • shorter reach (ideally around 420–435 mm)
  • higher stack (around 610 mm or more)

In general, I prefer a more compact and upright riding position rather than a stretched, aggressive one.

Bikes with long front centers or modern “long reach” geometry usually feel too extended for me, even if the size is technically correct ( usually i can't find a good point between S or M size)

I’d rather have something slightly shorter in reach that I can just fine-tune, than a bike that feels too long from the start and needs too many modifications.
