I got tired of using spreadsheets for Soul Links, so I built a real-time tool for it (Nuzl)

Hey everyone,

I’ve been doing a lot of Soul Link runs lately (mostly high-difficulty stuff like Radical Red and Elite Redux), and I realized that tracking everything in a Google Doc or a static spreadsheet was actually making the game less fun.

I’m a CS student, so I decided to spend my weekend building a dedicated tool to handle the logistics so my group can focus on the actual strategy.

I just got the MVP live today and wanted to see if anyone else would find it useful.

What I focused on:

  • Real-time Multiplayer: The biggest pain was constantly asking "did you update the doc?" This uses a live sync, so when your partner catches or moves a Pokémon, it updates on your screen instantly.
  • ROM Hack Depth: Most trackers ignore Megas or custom abilities. I made sure this pulls deep data, so it actually works for the games we're all playing.
  • Strategic Weakness Matrix: Instead of just a list, there’s a live grid at the bottom that calculates your team's net weaknesses and resistances. It handles the 4x math for dual types automatically.
  • Session Isolation: You can just start a new session, get a unique URL, and send it to your partner. No accounts or logins required.
  • Pair Intel: You can click on a linked pair, and view their respective weaknesses and base stats, useful for beginners.
  • Full Control: This isn't like other tracking sites, where there are set games or rule sets; you can add whatever you want to your dashboard. You can type in custom abilities (for randomizers) or select from the options that the Pokémon has!

It’s totally free, and I’m really just looking for some feedback. If you’re mid-run or planning a Soul Link, I’d love for you to try it out and let me know what’s missing or what feels clunky.

There isn't a tutorial or anything so just mess around and you'll get the hang of it lol. Notable things that might be confusing: The stars in the top right of the sprite icons are for evolving your Pokémon.

Thanks for checking it out!
