Switch hitter switched boxes after first pitch
I’ve never seen this before tonight in the six years I’ve been playing. I asked the umpire if this was allowed and they said it was fine.
We play by NSA rules, and all I could find in a quick reading after the game was:
Rule 9: Dead Ball / Ball in Play
Section 1: The ball is dead and not in play:
b) When a batter steps from one box to another when the pitcher is ready to pitch.
This doesn’t explicitly state that it’s a rule about switch hitting, but I guess it could be implied.
Does anyone have any more knowledge on this than I do?
