Chapter 12 was so good. This followed by “That's a succinct summary of humankind, I'd say. Who needs tomes and volumes of history? Children are dying. The injustices of the world hide in those three words. Quote me, Duiker, and your work's done." is insane. Such a great book so far
Can be extremely broad or narrow (covering very specific topics, places, or stretches of time), I am just very fascinated with this period in history and want to learn more! I’ll also read stuff that covers either of these periods on their own :)
I should probably add I had taken some higher level history classes in college so I am fairly confident in my reading abilities, and I am not at all averse to dryer, more academic styles
