Got a Galaxy Tab A11 plus for Android Auto... it won't connect

I picked up a Galaxy Tab A11 Plus to run Android Auto with the head unit in my 2025 Toyota Corolla LE. I've been using my phone, Galaxy S24 Ultra, but I drive a lot and it ends up being a lot of heat and battery drain and wear & tear on the phone, so I figured I'd just keep a tablet with it's own data plan in the car and it'd handle Android Auto and save the lifespan of my phone. Got the tablet, installed Android Auto, plugged it in and added device... and nothing. A "couldn't start because of an error" pops up and that's it. In settings on the tab, tapping Android Auto does nothing, won't open. I never even thought this would be a problem to look into at first and I've since seen some people say AA doesn't support tablets any more. I've Seen Head Unit Reloaded but that's just putting the work back on the phone and not solving the issue. How can I force this tab and head unit to cooperate together for Android Auto?

Long story short, the property owners at our business office had her in the field behind the building and were asking if anyone would take a free GSD, her owners moved & left her with them and they couldn't do anything with her. I didn't want her to stay out in the heat any longer as it had been a couple days, nor for her to be given to a random person who may not have a dog's best interests at heart, so I accepted taking her. I have her inside in air conditioning and fed, and she's a sweet dog, supposedly 1.5 years old and not fixed, however my own landlord has said she cannot stay. I've asked around and tried the local GSD rescue but so far nothing - anyone think they'd like to meet this sweet girl and maybe give her a safe forever home?
