Stuttering on PS3 home and games after playing PS2 titles

Good evening everyone.

I'm having a strange issue with my PS3 Super Slim regarding PS2 emulation.

Playing PS2 games works perfectly fine, but as soon as I exit and go back to the PS3 home, both the home itself and any PS3 game start experiencing terrible stuttering/lag. The only way to fix it is to perform a system settings restore, not even a full reboot of the console solves the issue.

My setup:

PS3 Super Slim running HEN 3.5.0 (firmware 4.91)
Files managed through Irisman
PS2 games converted to .pkg with PS2Classics Manager (or something similar)
Image enhancer and blur disable.

I have no idea what else to try and I don't know what to do. Is there a fix that doesn't require resetting the settings every single time?
