anyone want my completely bricked hifi walker?

Recieved a malfunctioning hifi walker h2 from a friend and tried to fix it and install rockbox--ended up bricking it completely. Wont turn on no matter what I do, and I've tried everything.

If anyone wants it, its yours. Canada only, I can mail it to you as long as you pay for postage, its free.

in search of this player (X3ii)

The X3ii (or X3 ‘mark 2’) has been discontinued for a while now, and is seemingly unavailable everywhere. I even emailed xduoo’s support team and they said its unavailable.

I would love to use this player, so im putting this post out there in case anyone knows of a site or somewhere I could purchase one from, or if anyone has one they’re willing to part with!

I think whats really cool about this dap is its like the X2S in how rugged it is, but its able to be rockbox’d and has a proper display. Very cool.

This has come up a few times in my life recently. Most recently when I went to someone’s very, very expensive and geared-out home studio, fit with NS-10s and a whole host of vintage and modern gear.

They had the NS-10’s wired backwards (each speaker recieving an opposite polarity signal due to the wires being +—+, not +-+-), and you could tell when sitting at the board you were getting massive phase cancellation. I was in disbelief. This person, who regularly records artists out of this studio (which was extremely well built, the electrical and routing and sound treating, and probably cost a half a mil) had his main monitors wired out of phase.

Do some people just not hear phase cancellation? Or do they just not know what it is? I felt like I had my tinfoil hat on when I was trying to explain this to others in the studio. Drove me batty.

New here—i just got these 2 old Lloyd passive speakers for my setup, I like the sound of them although their range is limited. They’re very soft and lack high end/low end. Is it generally recommended to add a subwoofer to this kind of setup or no? Just wondering if I can ‘extend’ their frequency range that way.

Not sure how i’d go about this or what to look for. do ‘mini’ subwoofers exist?

Btw the back if the speakers read:
LLOYD'S "mini" Speaker/Haut Parleur
1-5" diam. speaker/h.p.
1-2%" passive/passif
1-1¾" passive/passif
MODEL/MODELE WW007
5 WATT MAX.

If you're interested in getting yourself a DAP, music player, mp3 player etc., that's awesome--however, please do some research on your own before posting in here. This community is interested in sharing information with each other about our love for the technology and music as a whole, not answering vague queries and doing the 'work' (of just using google) for you.

You're getting ahead of yourself--go back to google, youtube, chatgpt--whatever, and search what you're looking for, spend a cursory amount of time researching some DAPs you like, then come back to this sub, SEARCH if someone has already asked the exact same question you're about to ask, and THEN post asking for some anecdotal info on what you've already looked up.

Apologies to the newbies who will take this personally, I do not mean to offend you. I was you. The fact that you're interested in this at all is great, and I commend you for that. But please, use a search engine before asking someone here to give you all the information you need. Otherwise, you're probably going to continue getting ignored and downvoted, and I'd rather that not happen.

Hi guys, long time fl user. I've been avoiding updating to FL25 because of gopher, I just dont want to be bugged by a chatbot in my own daw. I deal with enough of that everywhere else.

Is gopher as bad as I think it is? is it avoidable? I know there's an 'Ask gopher!' option in every right click menu now, that sounds very annoying.

The way they've marketed gopher is horrendous, like 'ask gopher which chords to write' is gross, imo that just enables another pathway to AI generated music...just made by people.

Anyways, if anyone's had any good experiences with it I'd like to hear it! Or if anyone has any workarounds to disable it, id love to hear that too. Thanks.
