Business - Camera returned for US - Incorrect customs fees applied?
Hi, I sell cameras online and a camera sent to the US was damaged in transit, the buyer has returned the camera to me, with it being marked as "returned goods" on the customs document.
Now I've been asked to pay £70 to customs for this item, as I've sent 1000's of packages and dealt with returns before I know that no import fees should be due on returned goods.
Could anyone advise me on who to email / contact to get this charge removed? For example with UPS I was able to have this removed after emailing their customs department with the relevant information. The package is currently at my local delivery office. I dont believe I've received a fee card yet.
EDIT:
So ridiculously I've been told by customer support to pay the fee (including an £8 handling fee) on my own item and that I should fill out a gov form.
