Can I check a travel crib (pack and play)?

Does anyone know if I can check a pack and play with Avianca and what that entails? Does it count as a checked bag or does it count as a free baby item (like a stroller or car seat)? Do I check it at the checkin counter or at the gate? Appreciate any experiences you can share!

I’ve tried calling Avianca multiple times and I cannot get a person on the phone. It says they’ve sent me a WhatsApp message to continue the conversation, but then I receive no message from them. It’s so frustrating!!!

Car seat help

I’m flying Avianca later this month (NY to El Salvador) with my 1 year old, and I’m having trouble finding information about bringing a car seat on board. Avianca’s car seat policy states max dimensions of 68 × 35 × 43 cm (27 × 14 × 17 in) — height, length, and width — to be carried in the cabin.

I can’t find a single car seat that fits these dimensions. The travel car seat I purchased is the Cosco Scenera, but the width is 18.88 inches. My concern is not whether the flight attendants will allow the car seat on board, it’s whether the car seat will actually fit the seat. We will be in basic/economy seats.

If you used a car seat on board Avianca for a 1 year old, please share which one you used and if you had any issues!
