I recently heard that many foreigners who are dating a japanese person often start to pick up speaking habits of the opposite gender since that is their main source of japanese, so men start to sound like their girlfriends and vice versa.
I have recently started to date a japanese woman and have already noticed that i sometimes say things that is normally only used by girls.
My japanese is somewhere around N3-N2. What are some of the key differences between the genders that i can try and focus on so i don't fall into this trap?
