Two birds, one stone
Archer is so random, lol. But yeah, I didn't know that was even possible.

My players wanted to gain some extra Edge to the planning pool by taking adding up some Risk Dice to the roll. I was kinda okay with that, but figured that Glitch (or Disaster) at Legwork would be a bummer. So, options are kinda limited:
a) No Risk Dice at Legwork Test
b) Allow Risk Dice, but do not count '1', which may lead to lots of hits
c) Allow Risk Dice, count '1', apply Glitches as usual (character starting gig with Serious wound? combat scene at Legwork?)
I've picked option a), but what do you think?
As for the source, here's what I found:
p. 70:
When running the shadows, you have to take risks. (Legwork is not the run, per se?)
On every Test, the player may replace some of their dice with Risk Dice.
p. 78:
... each player decides how their character is going to contribute during the run prep, and rolls a Legwork Test: a Simple Test with the character’s most relevant Skill.
p.225 - "Devices other than cyberdecks cannot defend themselves and automatically get 0 hits on their Tests, unless they benefit from Active Protection"
I'm so confused, lol. As of an example on p.225:
- Ghost spends a full day trying to find a backdoor... (so, this is semi-narrative decision to spend specific amount of time ahead on the backdoor, okay)
- He wants to allow their SINs to open maglocks... To achieve this, he’ll need Admin-level access (figuring out the goal and means of this Cracking effort, okay, makes sense)
- Once the full 12 hours are up... head to Ares’ offices. Once there... Ghost dives into VR (so, actual Cracking happens in the end of this prep?)
>Ghost: 9 dice (Cracking 5 + Logic 4) 3 of which are risk dice – 4 hits
against
Threshold 4 (Firewall 5 + 2 to increase his access from Outsider to Admin - 3 for spending a day on the backdoor)
Say, if Ghost'd decided to use a backdoor from safe distance, would he possibly suffer also Disadvantage for the noise?
What in all of that "In case of active protection, the threshold modifiers are applied after the Protection Test" means? Let's say, there's sysop monitoring that same Ares host. Now what?
If Ghost's attempt fails, does this day went for nothing?
If Ghost succeed, will this grant him "- 3 for spending a day" bonus on every Cracking attempt on this host?
To quote,
>For example, a smartlink (cyberware) providing Risk Reduction 1 on the pistols specialization can be improved to Risk Reduction 1 on the Ranged Weapons Skill.
>The Amp rating will go from 3 (base rating 1 for cyberware + 2 for the effect) to 6 (base rating 1 for cyberware + 5 for the effect).
>The Amp rating increases by 3, costing 15,000¥ (3 × 5,000¥).
Why Amp rating will go from 3 to 6? Am I missing difference in "rating cost" for specializations and "rating cost" for skills? Was this ruled out somewhere earlier?
I'm so lost with this one, haha.
