Asymmetric fullness near armpit, more prominent on right side. Normal or something to check?

Asymmetric fullness near armpit, more prominent on right side. Normal or something to check?

Age/Sex: 23M

Height/Weight: 170 cm / 71 kg

Ethnicity: Asian

Smoking: Non-smoker

Medical history: Atopic dermatitis, past TB (treated ~3 years ago), GERD, mild gynecomastia, mild pectus excavatum

Medications: None regularly (occasional antacids)

Main concern:

I’ve noticed that the outer part of my chest near the armpit (axillary/upper outer chest area) is more developed/full on the right side compared to the left.

The right side curves more toward the armpit, while the left side looks flatter/straighter

The difference is visible in certain angles/lighting

What it feels like:

Feels like muscle or meaty as if I am touching my biceps when I palpate deeper but feels mushy or soft when touched superficially.

No clearly defined borders when I palpate

I can feel something similar on the left side, but it’s less prominent

Behavior with movement:

The area becomes more noticeable when I flex my arms backwards or if i flex my biceps but disappears when i place my arms forward.

It seems to change appearance slightly with movement

Not fixed in one exact shape

Symptoms:

No significant pain in the area

No redness, skin changes, or nipple discharge

No rapid growth that I can tell

No systemic symptoms (no fever, no night sweats, no weight loss)

Other relevant info:

Recently returned to the gym twice only after ~1.5 years

Did chest/shoulder workouts before noticing this more

I tend to have some small asymmetry in posture (right shoulder slightly lower)

Recent CBC: normal

Recent urinalysis: normal

Question:

Does this sound like normal asymmetry (muscle/fat distribution or mild gynecomastia), or is there anything here that would warrant further evaluation (e.g., imaging or in-person exam)?

Subtle differences in chest contour near the underarm

I am observing an anatomical asymmetry in the axillary and upper-outer chest region. On the right side, the contour appears more rounded and developed toward the armpit, whereas the left side presents a flatter, straighter profile. This difference is most apparent under specific lighting and angles.

Upon palpation, the tissue on both sides feels firm and consistent with muscular density, lacking distinct borders or isolated lumps. The prominence on the right is more pronounced but mirrors the underlying structure of the left.

The appearance of this area is dynamic since it becomes more defined when the arms are flexed backwards and shifts slightly with movement, rather than remaining fixed. There are no accompanying skin changes, inflammatory markers, or systemic symptoms. I am interested in how natural variations in muscle insertion, dominant-side hypertrophy, or tissue distribution typically manifest in this specific region.
