So I’ve been interested in cardistry for about 5-6 months now. To me, it’s a very interesting form of art and I have been dreaming of doing it ever since. But the problem is that I don’t know where to start!! 😞

I already bought a (cheap) deck of cards and tried it out for a while; but then I quickly lost my motivation and just stopped trying ever since. I really regret not pushing my dedication now — if I had really locked in that while back, I probably would’ve been very good by now….and as of recently, I’ve caught myself thinking about that. A lot.

My question to the cardistry community:
How can I actually get motivated enough to chase my dream and where do I get the dedication? How did you guys do it? I’d love for someone to help me out!

Reading and writing are one of my passions. I love myself a good book and I love having the ability to create a world from scratch that can be accessed through words on paper. But recently, I cannot get myself to read like I used to. I get some books, open one and then just go back to picking up my phone again. Same goes for writing — I haven’t done any progress on my writing at all for months now!

I would love finding my passion for reading again, but I don’t know where to start. Can anyone help? 🥹🙏

I don’t really know to word this, but I noticed a certain pattern in most popular books. This is probably from the booktok side of things, but it has come to my notice that the most recommended books throughout social media have to do something with romance or intimate relationships. A lot of the time it’s between the two protagonists, one male and one female. This is probably just this reader generation’s taste and not everyone has to be into that stuff, but it does got me wondering:

How will my book be viewed in the eyes of the audience?

So, I’m an aspiring author and I am currently working on a project. I do have two main protagonists (two boys) who grow together within the story and form a strong bond. Their relationship will definitely be complex and they’ll definitely have a conflict or two along the way, but for most of the time they can be described as the bestest of friends. The thing is that the two of them are still minors, children even; so I don’t really want to get too much into that romance stuff — maybe not at all. They’ll have a platonic relationship at best.

But do you think people would still read a book like this? I’m pretty confident my story has an interesting plot (I say as I’m still planning it out…) and a lot of cool things aside from romance. Of course, the audience’s preferences won’t make me feel down as I am writing this book for myself and not to please other people. Still, how do you feel about this? I’d really appreciate your help!
