key ideas and modifications:
the rubberband (RB) is anchored to rotating bushes to continuously redistribute tension. this creates less weak points in the RB and prevents localized wear.
1x10 plates have the bottom corner sanded off to give the RB a smoother stretch, instead of bending it across a 90° angle. this also minimizes localized wear.(ideally this would be replaced by rounded 1x10s but the piece only exists with missing studs on each end)
the 1x1 technic firing piece is also sanded down on each side to minimize stress on the RB and the string. this is the main "weak point" of the design currently, as the RB almost always snaps from the firing piece stretching it, not from the anchor point on the barrel.
this system works with non modified parts, but if you want to tune it for more power and/or better longevity, these 2 modifications work for now. feel free to improve it
