I have a lone male mouse (Nugget) in a 32x16x16 enclosure. I initially got his brother too, but the brother bullied Nugget so much that they had to be separated. Checked with my vet, neutering him is not a safe option so I can’t house him with female fancy mice.

After some light research I discovered African Soft Fur Rats- supposedly you can house female ASFs with a male to prevent loneliness. I checked in again with my vet, she had never heard of it but said I could try. I don’t know anyone else who has kept mice, so I figured I’d ask here. Thoughts? Just want to give my little guy a happy life while he’s here.
