I am moving to either uni of Manchester or uni of Leeds for uni masters in September from Ireland, just wondering if anyone has advice for where to stay for the year? I ideally want to live with other postgrad students but do many just rent privately rather than going with the university accommodation

Me and my friends (x3 girls ages 22-23) are heading to USA for the first time at the end of July. Wondering is there any nightlife or fun things to do to make the most out of our time there and get the full experience?
We love fun nights out but have been told to reduce expectations for nightlife in LA
