One week - how fast is too fast?

SW: 240lbs CW: 228

Hi all, this is my second time taking contrave. The first time was almost a decade ago and it was very successful for me and I lost approx 100 lbs. I didn’t gain my weight back instantly but have gradually been getting bigger and bigger until I recently hit my highest weight ever. I am now starting contrave again and have just finished week one.

My question is how do you avoid losing weight too rapidly?

My first week I have lost 12 lbs without intending to. I am eating 3 healthy sized meals a day and am doing little to no exercise because of another health issue I am currently dealing with. I am very happy that I am already seeing progress but I know it is not sustainable to continue losing weight this rapidly. Should it slow down naturally on its own or do I need to increase my calories?

I am not counting my calories but I would guess I am at about 1,500 a day and I feel full and satisfied with how much I am eating.
