any tips on how to slow the progression of diamond eye?

this is my fish biscuit! he was surrendered to me in november last year under the assumption he had popeyes. (popeyes biscuit lol). i treated him with the typical kanaplex and aquarium salt dips originally before i realized his scales were growing over his eye causing the cloudy eye. since then ive left him alone. i add stress guard every now and then if i do a tank deep clean and i also add almond leave tea plus the new leaves once a month. other than that i do weekly tank maintenance / water changes.
my parameters currently are stable. no ammonia, 7.6ph, 0ppm nitrites, a little less than 5ppm nitrate. my tank is 6 gallons, heated to 78° and has a sponge filter. currently have biscuit, 2 bamboo shrimp, and a couple of pest snails in the tank
