Quitting assignment after 3 weeks?
I’m at Banner Boswell in AZ and I’m working PCU. I want to quit because I was told the ratio is 1:4 when it’s really 1:5. I’m pretty flexible as my background is float pool but 5 pcu patients is too much since I’m always getting the heaviest patients. I know as a traveler you usually get the crappy assignment but it’s like they don’t even look at patient acuity and just assign you whoever. I’m mostly annoyed because every shift has been like this and then the staff nurses will only get 4 patients or ones not as sick and they’re on their phone scrolling most of the night while i’m running around. Despite this, i’m still willing to help others with their patients like you’re supposed to.
My question is, has anyone quit a Banner contract early and did you end up getting on the DNR list? that’s my biggest concern since I want to continue to travel in AZ and most facilities are Banner hospitals.
