am i the only one that doesn’t love the lotions??🫢
i feel guilty even saying it!
i’ve always been a fan of the creams, of course the original bum bum cream plus the others, mostly for the scents, but they’re also genuinely moisturizing. the problem is i just can’t justify the price tag anymore. i go through cream way too fast to spend that much on one jar; i’m basically lathering myself up from head to toe and following it with body oil every single day after my shower.
with the excitement around the new lotion releases, i figured it was time to give them a try (i’ve never even tried the original 62 lotion). so, i ordered the 39 lotion since it’s supposed to be the highest hydration level..
i know a lotion is never going to be as thick or rich as a cream/body butter, but i’m honestly so disappointed. it just didn’t give me that "deeply hydrated" feel i get even from my cheap drugstore staples like palmers, olay, or jergens. to be real, the five below 62 lotion knock-off actually leaves my skin feeling more moisturized than the real deal (and smells delish).
it’s hard to explain, but the sdj lotion just isn't "slick." i felt like i had to use way more product to get close to a hydrated feeling, but even then, it just felt thin? it doesn't have that satisfying slip or that plump, moisturized finish i was expecting. it just kind of disappears without actually doing anything. am i crazy or are these just not it?
and the craziest part is..i still want to try the new 48 lotion because i’m so in love with the scent 😂
