Do some ex-military Americans genuinely have trouble adjusting to civilian life?

Genuine question, in my country there are many people who join the regular atmy full-time after conscription because they have actual trouble adjusting to daily life outside. For some people the army provides a predictable schedule + job security... Which is quite rare nowadays.

Are there any regions in America that are known for producing more soldiers than the national average?

Quite curious to see if there are any regions with this reputation in America

Overseas Singaporeans, do you ever get called back for reservist?

Especially if you are living overseas or have PR. Do they ever call you back if you have a valid exit permit? What happens if you want to attend reservist anyway even though you're extremely far away from home?

Life in 40/41/42/48 SAR etc.?

Curious to know since I haven't found many posts about it online that are up to date. Many of the posts I see about these units are from 5-10 years ago. Anyone currently serving or just ORD that can share what it's like?

Does NS have a "toxic masculinity" problem or is that an exaggerated myth?

I know some units do have this problem but others don't. Is it rarer than most people think though?

Tekong water: Does it actually have any side effects long term?

I'm wondering if the water in the camp will fuck up my throat. Has anyone else gotten any long term chronic conditions from drinking it regularly?

Who are some of the most sadistic officers that you have met?

I was hanging out with a longtime sec sch friend, then heard from him that the most hated, manipulative guy in my cohort become officer....

After I heard that I was wondering if there was a real correlation between the two. Got ah? ☠️

Are most NS stories "wayang"?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. About to start NS in a few days but I feel a lot of the stories older men and even people in their 20s tell about NS feel a bit exaggerated ah. Is it just me? ☠️

Because I have older friends that are born a year before me that have done NS. They say most of it is a lot of waiting + occasional drills. Correct me if I am wrong lah.

Curious to hear what this subreddit has to say
