What's the secret to be able to access your head voice when needed?

And how can I know that is my head voice? Also, is this something that takes years to grasp or can it just click under the right conditions?

My child had a lesson about this yesterday and I tried to follow the instructions myself at home, but I just don't get it.

What was tried until know:

- meowing
- singing with head hanging down
- singing while walking (I'm not sure this was supposed to help with the head voice or just to help one feel more relaxed while singing)

I didn't feel any vibrations in head area. The only time I feel the vibrations are when I hum, but I can't seem to be able to switch from humming (mouth closed) to vowels or words which require an open mouth.

Different versions of the final "ben" in "Che faro senza Euridice"

My 11yo is going to sing the "Che faro senza Euridice" following using this score sheet: https://en.opera-scores.com/D/Aria/458/0.html

The thing is she needs an accompaniment as audio track. I found several piano accompaniments on Youtube and all seem to use a slightly different score, especially the ending. (e.g. https://youtu.be/-YbG7iSlGXs?si=E8cBoFna4FSj1pri&t=220)

In the original score the ending has one "ben" on C4 while in the Youtube version there are two "ben" on F5 and one "ben" on C5.

Can someone help me understand how come there are different versions?

How much time should a grade 5/6 student put in preparing for a math olympiad?

I'm curious to find out what preparation regimen brings one success at this age.

As far as I know, breathing through the nose is considered healthy breathing.

I'm curious to learn how/why breathing through the mouth is helpful here.

The title is pretty explanatory. The talent show is in 3 weeks.

The child is very self-motivated and eager to sing this song specifically. She only did piano lessons until now, no voice lessons. Diction is good as she is familiar with Latin pronunciation (ecclesiastic Latin) and Italian resembles Latin a lot.

Is it feasible to expect she can learn it in 3 weeks so that it sounds decent with her child voice (not a soprano voice)?

If yes, is there anything I can do to support her?

I already launched a request for a voice teacher, but I am not sure it would be possible to find someone for such a short time period.

While brushing my child's teeth, I noticed that there was a piece of food stuck at gum level. By the time she rinsed, the food was not visible anymore, but seemed to go below the gumline. The gum pocket is on the interior side of the upper back tooth. Judging by the color (dark brownish), it might be a piece of seaweed or of a dried plum from a few days ago.

Is there a way I can help dislodging it at home in a safe manner?
