University of Mumbai adds mother's name to my marksheet – will this cause any issues?
So my legal name in government documents is first name + father's name + last name (eg. Ram Kishor Sharma) as this is the naming convention in my state. I received my marksheet from the University of Mumbai, and my name is written as last name first name + father's name + mother's name (eg. SharmaRam Kishor Meera).
I asked the in-charge about this, and they told me it is mandatory to add mother's name as your middle name on University of Mumbai documents. I looked at other degree certificates from the university on Google/Linkedin, and they all seem to have the mother's name added. Most of them do not attach the last name and the first name together though (eg. SharmaRam)
I wanted to know:
Will this discrepancy between university-issued documents and government-issued documents cause any issues?
If it does cause any issues, can I get it corrected? Especially since Mumbai University made this mandatory.
If I cannot get it changed because of university rules, can I get an affidavit or something stating the reason for this? Will this suffice if I ever need to verify my documents abroad?
Thank you.
Note: No real names are used, I just used common Indian names.
