Hello everyone,

I’m here to ask for some advice. I have a 4-month-old Malinois, and I’m having a real problem with biting. Whenever she has too much energy or feels frustrated, she jumps on me and bites me hard enough to draw blood.

For example, when she has a treat (like a pig’s ear) and I just walk past her, she jumps on me and bites me even though I wasn’t doing anything. Yesterday, I tried an exercise (a very bad one) for resource guarding, and at the end of it, she came and bit me until I bled. The same thing happened this morning: she saw a cat and growled loudly at it. I called her to go into another room so I could put her leash on since we were about to go out, but she completely refused, growled at me, and then jumped to bite me. I have to distract her with something else just to be able to put it on.

I want to point out that I have never been aggressive or violent with her. When she tries to bite or does bite me, I stay still and say “no.”

Do you have any advice on this behavior? It’s really our biggest issue.

Je viens prendre des conseils ici car je ne comprends pas le comportement de ma malinoise. Elle a 4 mois et, globalement, c’est une super chienne ; elle est ok humains, enfants, chats et est en général très câline.

Mais il arrive que par moments, elle me saute dessus et me mord sans aucune raison. Je précise que je ne l’ai jamais frappée ou quoi que ce soit, j’hausse juste la voix. La par exemple, je travaillais le prend/donne avec la nourriture pour la protection de ressource. Globalement l’exercice s’est bien passé mais à la fin, lorsque je vais pour la détacher, elle m’a sauté dessus et m’a mordu la main alors qu’elle avait fini de manger son bout. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi elle fait ça. Je m’y prends mal ? Avez vous des idées ? Merci ^^
