My biggest pot yet. 5 pounds of clay.

Made this one for my younger brother to gift to his girlfriend. He asked me to make a BIG planter for their deck. So excited I was able to do this and can’t wait to trim and glaze this. Will go for 6 pounds next 😎have only been at this for 10 months. Inspired. Love doing this as part of my recent retirement journey after 35 years working for the government. I loved my job but this is way more fun.

Latest piece/creation by my wife @photogratzia and me. I throw the pots on the wheel and she artistically hand paints . This one is such a nice size with perfect opening for our winged friends! Notice the butterflies and flowers circling the pot. So happy with this and is going to be a special addition to someone’s yard. Love making these. Birdbottle birdhouses go back to Colonial times with settlers hanging them to attract birds so they would eat the insects that could mess with their agriculture. Do you like it?
