My new (to me) 2020 PPV
I was lucky enough to pick up a 2020 Tahoe PPV this week. Right at 90k miles and in really good shape. It was an FBI surveillance/supervisor vehicle so it doesn't have nearly as many miles or holes in the interior as other ones I have seen.
This is going to replace my former daily, a 2016 Colorado. So being able to tow, haul and still be comfortable every day should fill the gap the truck left nicely.
I do have a good worklist going before the mods can begin: squeaks to track down, some interior panels to replace, wiring to remove and a full service to preform. If anyone has any must have work they know needs to be done to ensure reliability, please let me know. Also if anyone has experience with the PPV specific spec, I have some questions lol. I did download the PPV sales sheet from Chevy, but it only goes so far.
Long term plans include: adding heated seats, adding roof rails (for a cargo basket), adding factory fog lights, adding power for the back of the center console, repairing the rear power outlets (they are completely disconnected for some reason), applying sound mat to some of the interior panels, adding front tow hooks and replacing the shocks.
If anyone has any suggestions, I will very soon be buying:
-Seat covers (the wider seats don't fit most covers)
-Cargo area mat
-Switch panel mount (I've seen a few for Silverados in the sunglass holder, but nothing for Tahoes)
-Maybe a new head unit? A large one that still allows the use of the sliding dash console would be ideal. Im tired of using a glitchy AA dongle...
Anyway, looking forward to a new build and seeing what others have done. Thanks all!
